We are currently seeking applications for a Taxation Investigator, to join RevenueSA, Compliance Services at The Department of Treasury & Finance for a period of up to 2.5 years. Multiple positions.
Remuneration: ASO4 – Salary Range ($76 561 - $80 256 p.a.).

About the opportunity:
The Taxation Investigator Grade III role is responsible to the Manager, Audit, Compliance Services Branch or a Senior Taxation Investigator for carrying out audit, investigation and enforcement duties to monitor and enforce compliance with State Taxation legislation. The role involves preparing reports and briefs, as well as obtaining evidence and other financial information, to ensure assessments are issued in compliance with State Taxation legislation.
The Investigator is also required to inform and educate taxpayers in the private sector, of RevenueSA policy and their liabilities, in order to encourage their compliance and to provide a high level of taxpayer service.
About you
The role would suit an individual who has demonstrated capacity for clear, creative and analytical thinking to undertake audits and investigations with the ability to self-motivate and to work successfully under limited direction to meet the Branches key performance indicators. You will have a commitment to high quality audit, investigation and enforcement outcomes whilst acting in a professional manner with both the public and private sectors.
To be successful you will be:
- Experienced in the conduct of audits, investigations or research projects.
- Experienced in preparing detailed written reports regarding your findings in relation to compliance with legislation/policy/regulation.
- Able to work independently and under limited direction, as well as the ability to work in a team environment.
- Have well developed ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, informing and educating taxpayers of the relevant legislation and their taxation liabilities.
- Ability to examine records for taxation purposes, and ascertain the substance of transactions behind the legal form.
