As a Senior Management Accountant, you will:
- Provide a high level of professional budget analysis and advice to staff at all levels including senior officers on a diverse range of budget management, resource allocation, financial reporting and performance improvement issues.
- Assist in the development and monitoring of the Department's annual budget and forward estimates including the monitoring and implementation of key budgetary elements within the budget timetable.
- Contribute to the financial management requirements of the annual State Budget for the preparation of the Service Delivery Statements, briefing notes in relation to the Cabinet Budget Review Committee and the Estimates Committee hearings.
- Provide advice to senior management on business initiatives and the possible financial impact.
- Ensure that external and internal reporting requirements (including Tridata and monthly departmental budget monitoring reports) are met on a timely and efficient basis.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of appropriate budget management and performance improvement policies, frameworks and projects to support the strategic accountabilities of the Department.
- Contribute to and prepare complex reports, submissions, briefing notes and correspondence on a range of financial management and budgeting issues.
