ABOUT THE ROLE
- Part Time Fixed Term until 12 February 2026
- 2 days / 15.2 hours per week
- Band 5: $38.90 per hour + 11.5% superannuation
- Supportive and collaborative team
Are you experienced in supporting the safety of our local community? We have an exciting opportunity to join us as one of our valuable Community Safety Officers for the next 10 months.
This pivotal role is committed to ensuring the wellbeing of the community through proactive measures and enforcement of safety regulations.
This role will be involved in community education, parking control, domestic animal management including Council’s animal shelter, fire prevention, school crossings, after-hours on-call duties on a rostered basis, community education, and ensuring compliance with the appropriate statutory obligations.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you will:
- have a Certificate IV in Animal Management/Local Government/Statutory Compliance, or experience in a similar field
- be qualified, or prepared to qualify as an Assistant Municipal Fire Prevention Officer
- have a high level of communication skills and diligence for detail
- have a customer focus when managing a range of external stakeholders
- be willing to work collaboratively to achieve the goals of the Community Safety team
- not be afraid to jump in wherever help is needed, including being on call and able to respond to emergency call outs.
You must have a current Driver’s licence, Working with Children Check and complete a satisfactory Police Records Check and Functional Assessment (Physio/medical).
