The Role
Air Training Systems Program Office (ATSPO) is currently looking for an education professional to fill an APS 6 Training Assurance Officer role located at the RAAF Base in East Sale. The position requires excellent interpersonal, negotiation, quality and compliance management skills.
The APS 6 Training Assurance Officer position works with the PC-21 Pilot Training System team and will oversee governance and assurance of the learning management system - directly contributing to the generation of aircrew for the ADF.
The position is responsible for governance and assurance requirements relating to the following:
- Coordination and performance of training auditing and government reporting activities.
- Provision of guidance on the management and planning of the training system processes.
- Monitoring and analyzing the effectiveness of training delivery within the Pilot Training System.
- Contribution to the strategic review of training systems including performance measurement and continuous improvement.
- Building and sustaining effective relationships with team members, management and stakeholders.
- Influencing policy conformance and conformance against industry best practice.
- Designing and implementing solutions to issues impacting on the achievement of Pilot Training System outcomes
To be successful in this role, you will required to establish and maintain a strong relationship with Industry contractors and stakeholders to support the Pilot Training System to deliver Defence Force Capability.

The position requires a highly motivated individual with excellent communication and negotiation skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders. The successful candidate will ideally have a background in Education and Training.
Candidates will require a strong ability to resolve competing priorities, manage resource dependencies and work with senior leaders to deliver strategic outcomes. You will be experienced in working with multi discipline teams and maintaining constructive cross team communication as well as having the ability to manage a high workload with minimal supervision.
Our ideal candidate will possess:
- Experience in the field of Adult Education with a strong understanding of frameworks for governance and assurance of training outcomes.
- Well organised, with demonstrated experience in delivering quality outcomes in a structured and transparent manner.
- Work as part of a team to meet operational capability requirements.
- Develop and maintain enterprise stakeholder relationships.
- Ability to tailor communication style and language according to the audience’s level of knowledge, skill and experience.
- Provide effective and efficient training governance and assurance to meet Air Force capability requirements.
- An understanding of aviation training is desirable, however not essential.
