Description:

Are you a Business Analyst with a passion for data governance, privacy, and retention frameworks? We are seeking an experienced Retention Business Analyst to support key compliance initiatives across data retention, disposal, and governance programs. Working closely with stakeholders across the business and IT, you’ll play a critical role in translating regulatory requirements into actionable solutions that support operational excellence and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the analysis, documentation, and implementation of data retention and disposal frameworks across core business systems.
  • Conduct workshops with business, compliance, and IT stakeholders to validate data handling, retention, and governance requirements.
  • Collaborate with data governance teams to ensure policies align with privacy, risk, and regulatory obligations (e.g., Privacy Act, APRA CPG 235).
  • Support divestment and separation projects through the delivery of secure data migration, cleansing, and disposal activities.
  • Prepare business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to support technical teams in solution development.
  • Assist in the development of dashboards and reporting frameworks (Power BI, SQL) to monitor data retention compliance.
  • Act as the liaison between business and technical teams to ensure seamless communication and delivery of retention initiatives.
Key Skills and Experience:
  • Proven experience delivering data retention, governance, and compliance initiatives, ideally within the insurance or financial services sector.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to work across business, IT, compliance, and risk teams.
  • Solid background in business analysis, including documentation of business and functional requirements, data mapping, and process improvement.
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI, SQL, and cloud data environments (e.g., Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory) is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with APRA, Privacy Act, GDPR, or similar data protection standards is a plus.
  • Experience working in Agile and Waterfall delivery environments.
