ABOUT THE ROLE
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for 10 staff members (plus seasonal labour) and will help shape the culture, SOPs, training, and direction of an emerging warehouse. The position will manage the 3PL/Contract Logistics, pick/pack and 77G bonded warehouse operations within a new 7,000sq/m facility. Previous experience managing operating staff, contracts, and facilities is essential. Experience with International freight is an advantage.
DUTIES
- Responsible for the running of the general and 77G warehouse
- Manage and maintain client 3PL warehouse contract requirements
- Consistently increase the efficiency of the warehouse operation by reducing costs, improving productivity and capacity utilisation;
- Ensure all cargo is collected and handled within the relevant SOP, customs and DAWRS rules and responsibilities
- Monitor and adhere to relevant OH&S regulations and IR legislation
- Achieve key performance indicators and service level requirements as agreed with the client
- Provide regular follow-up reports
- Lead, mentor and upskill the team
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Current role within Warehouse Management within contract/3PL
- Experience managing a 77G Warehousing space advantageous
- Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring a team
- Strong knowledge of the legislation/regulations governing the Warehousing and Transport industry
- Demonstrated ability and previous experience leading staff
- Exposure to Cargowise1 an advantage
