We are seeking a passionate and values-driven head chef to lead the kitchen at our new Hobart City venue. This is a unique opportunity to shape the food offering at one of Tasmania’s most exciting hospitality experiences, backed by a world-class single malt whisky .

Key Responsibilities
Lead and inspire the kitchen team to deliver consistent, high-quality food experiences.
Set up and implement standard operating procedures and training guides.
Monitor and manage food and labor costs, ensuring profitability without compromising quality.
Design and update menu costing with full transparency and reporting to management.
Source the best value for premium local produce, in line with the venue’s vision.
Create efficient rosters that balance business needs and team well-being.
Provide training and mentoring to team members and contribute to their professional growth.
Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant kitchen environment at all times.
Work closely with management to execute the company’s vision and policies.
Be flexible and available to work across lunch and dinner service, 7 days, depending on business requirements.
Establish and maintain detailed cleaning checklists for daily, weekly, and monthly routines to meet hospital-grade hygiene standards.
Manage all kitchen purchases with accurate tracking, stock control, and supplier coordination.

Salary & Benefits
$85,000 per year + superannuation
Performance bonus of up to $15,000 annually for achieving agreed food and labour cost targets
