Permanent and Temporary (12 months) full time for a Senior Medical Officer and/or Provisional Senior Medical Officer at Cloncurry

Multiple positions – either qualification will be accepted

Competitive pro rata remuneration package up to $577,331 p.a. comprising:

        • base salary ranges between $182,106 and $266,677 p.a.(L13-L27).

About the role

The Senior Medical Officer reports to the Medical Superintendent of the Cloncurry Hospital, and is responsible, to provide clinical care to patients and clinically manage, on a day-to-day basis, the associated multidisciplinary patient care team to ensure the provision of appropriate patient care, delivered to the highest professional and ethical standards.

Requirements

  • Mandatory requirements are a relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences.
  • Current registration with or/eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • The successful applicant will be appointed between classifications Level 13 and Level 27.
  • Appointment as a Rural Generalist (Level 18 to Level 27) or Provisional Fellow (Level 13 to Level 14) will require one or more of the following advanced skills - Mental Health, Internal Medicine, Paediatrics, Obstetrics, Emergency Medicine, Indigenous Health.
  • Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks.
  • This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
  • A period of probation may apply.
