Are you dedicated to maintaining a clean and safe community? Become an essential member of our Civil Operations Team at the Paget Depot, where your role will involve street sweeping, hands-on labour, and operating plant equipment and trucks vital to the upkeep and construction of roads and drainage systems.

About this opportunity:

As a Street Sweeper within the Drainage Works Crew, your primary responsibility will be to execute street sweeping operations. In addition, you will support various tasks including labouring, plant operation, and truck handling linked to the maintenance and construction of roads, drainage assets, and related civil infrastructures such as earthworks, concrete projects, pipelaying, bitumen repairs, and vegetation management. Under the guidance of a Supervisor or Leading Hand, you'll also collaborate with mechanical service personnel to maintain and repair equipment, complete pre-start checks, and ensure high-quality service for both internal and external clients.

Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

· Possess a valid General Construction Safety "White" Card.

· Hold a QLD Heavy Rigid Truck HR Class Licence (or an equivalent interstate license).

· Demonstrate experience in driving tandem axle trucks under various road conditions.

· Have relevant background in the construction and/or maintenance of roads and drainage infrastructure.

· Be proficient in operating:

o Rigid trucks up to 15 tonnes.

o Rigid trucks with two or more axles and a GVM over 15 tonnes.

o Truck and trailer combinations with a Gross Combined Mass (GCM) up to 22.5 tonnes.

o Truck and heavy trailer combinations with a GCM exceeding 22.5 tonnes but capped at 42.5 tonnes.
