Position Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated and hands-on Restaurant and Café Manager to oversee the daily operations of our venue. You will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction, managing staff performance, coordinating food and beverage services, and maintaining operational efficiency and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan, coordinate and manage the overall operation of the restaurant and café, ensuring a high standard of food, service, health and safety, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Develop and implement procedures and standards to deliver excellent customer service and a consistently high-quality dining experience.
• Monitor and evaluate product and service quality, responding promptly and professionally to customer feedback and concerns.
• Manage the recruitment, training, and performance of restaurant and café staff, promoting a positive and productive work environment.
• Prepare staff rosters, ensuring adequate coverage and efficient labour cost management.
• Oversee inventory control, including ordering supplies, stock rotation, and minimising wastage to control food and beverage costs.
• Manage budgets and financial plans, including sales forecasting, monitoring daily takings, and achieving revenue and profitability targets.
• Liaise with kitchen staff to coordinate menu offerings and ensure consistency in food presentation and quality.
• Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment, ensuring cleanliness, maintenance, and adherence to health and safety standards.
• Promote the venue through social media and local marketing initiatives to attract new customers and retain regular patrons.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and implement innovative practices to maintain competitive advantage and enhance the customer experience.
Skills and Qualifications:
• A minimum of 2 years of proven experience in managing a busy restaurant or café operation.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, train and lead a team.
• Sound knowledge of food and beverage operations, including food safety and hygiene standards.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong organisational and time management abilities.
• Financial acumen, including budgeting, stock control, and reporting.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, public holidays, and evenings as required.
• Relevant qualifications in hospitality, business, or management will be highly regarded.
