Band 6 - Salary Range $95,073 to $103,531 per annum + 11.5% Super + ADO

The Opportunity
Our Communications team is expanding are we’re looking for a collaborative and adaptive individual to join us in the new role of Internal Communications Advisor. Reporting to the Coordinator, Internal Communications, the position will focus on delivering strategic internal communications plans and programs to drive employee engagement and experience.
Working collaboratively with stakeholders across Council, including internal services, leaders and our Executive Management Team (ELT), you will develop strategies and campaigns that support our transformation program and build positive organisational culture.
This role is vital to ensuring the maintenance and management of our staff intranet site.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update intranet content daily to ensure accuracy, relevance and engagement.
- Monitor and improve the performance, functionality, and design of Council’s intranet to enhance user experience and drive staff engagement.
- Create regular internal video content, publications and e-newsletters.
Build strong relationships across the Council that maximise a proactive internal communications approach.
- Contribute to the delivery of Council’s annual Internal Communications Plan and staff engagement initiatives.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
- Tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations, marketing or journalism combined with relevant experience within a large and complex organisation.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills with the ability to develop content for a range of different communications channels and formats.
- Proven experience administering, updating and enhancing a content management system (CMS) to ensure content and functionality are up-to-date, relevant, accessible and user-friendly.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the ability to negotiate and influence outcomes.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and to a high standard.
