State Library of Queensland is currently seeking casual Venue Officers.As a Venue Officer, you will play a key role in the delivery of events across our many venues at the State Library.
You will create a welcoming environment, deliver service exceeding customer expectations.
In many cases, you will be acting as the sole representative of the State Library of Queensland, so professionalism and the ability to take initiative are key requirements for this position.
This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires a high level of organisation, attention to detail and communication skills.
Previous experience at a supervisory level with symposium/conference/banquets/event environment is highly desired.

About You
As a member of the Events Team in the Activation branch, you will play an important operational role in the delivery of functions and events at the State Library.
A key focus of this position will be to provide exceptional customer service in the delivery of a wide range of event services.
What You Will Do
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Supporting the delivery of functions and events through the set up and pack down of meeting room furniture, basic audio-visual systems, stationery and food/beverage stations.
- Coordination of event staff including contractors, venue technicians and security suppliers to ensure delivery of high-quality events.
- Conducting regular venue maintenance, upkeep and presentation. This includes end of event, security and incident reporting as well as liaising with State Library Facilities and Technical Production teams to report onsite issues for action.
- Acting as client liaison on event day to meet and greet external event managers, artists and promoters as well as supporting the coordination of associated event staff including food and beverage contractors, venue technicians, security suppliers and external deliveries.
