About the Region
The South Burnett Region is ideally situated just 2 - 3 hours' drive to Brisbane, Toowoomba, Sunshine Coast and Fraser Coast. About the roles
Based in Wondai
Permanent Full Time
$71K- $75K per annum + Allowances + Super
Council is seeking an officer to provide a high-quality library and information service responsive to local community needs which contributes to meeting the information, recreational and cultural needs of the regions’ communities, and to make a range of South Burnett Regional Council services available to the local community. The role will provide accurate information and reference assistance to customers using public access catalogues, public access computers and library collections, whilst providing appropriate resources for customers through standing orders, requests for purchase and inter-library loans. The successful applicant will have proven experience in Library management and customer service development, with the ability to respond to local community needs. Proven customer service, interpersonal and communication skills, including conflict resolution skills with the ability to work unsupervised with minimal supervision.
Mandatory Qualifications
Minimum requirement of a current C Class driver’s licence.
Certificate III in Library and Information Services.

Skills and experience

Proven experience in Library management and customer service development, with the ability to respond to local community needs.
Proven customer service, interpersonal and communication skills, including conflict resolution skills.
Sound keyboard and computer skills including working knowledge of the MS Office Suite with experience using Library Management Systems and other library related technology.
Sound time management skills with the ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines, accept responsibility and display initiative.
Ability to work unsupervised with minimal supervision.
