What you'll do
In the Public Health Nurse role you will:
- Use a high level of nursing knowledge and skill in the gathering, synthesis, systematic analysis and application of evidence, theory and judgement in planning, implementing and evaluating complex and innovative statewide public health nursing interventions relevant to the prevention and control of communicable and notifiable diseases and the subsequent associated long term health impacts of infection.
- Provide expert public health nursing advice, in consultation with the Assistant Director of Nursing, Director of Nursing and CDB Senior Medical Officers, to the public and other stakeholders on a broad range of communicable disease issues, and the public health management of complex diseases associated with an initial infection, including but not limited to tuberculosis and rheumatic heart disease, particularly through Ministerial or Departmental requests for information.
- Build and sustain positive relationships with team members and stakeholders. Work collaboratively with Hospital and Health Services, other government departments, public affairs and other key stakeholders in the development, implementation and evaluation of public health strategies to prevent or manage outbreaks or incidents relating to the transmission of communicable diseases of statewide concern in Queensland.

- Has a qualification and registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as a Registered Nurse.
