Description:

Join a team who are professional and committed. To be successful you will have demonstrated experience to assist Medical, Scientific and Technical staff in the performance of laboratory duties in a hospital Anatomical Pathology division. Provide assistance to scientific and technical laboratory staff by operating and maintaining the instruments, equipment and facilities of the laboratory. This includes being involved in such quality actions as instrument and temperature checks.

Key competencies (role specific criteria)

You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:

  • Experience in, or a desire and ability, to rapidly acquire knowledge in Anatomical Pathology laboratory duties.
  • Ability to manually handle consumables / stock reagents, including but not limited to bulk hazardous goods.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively and accurately as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in the use of laboratory information systems or the ability to rapidly acquire these skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide operational support to a medium-sized Anatomical Pathology team, including the allocation of resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a high through put environment still maintaining a high attention to detail.

Qualifications, registrations and other requirements

  • There are no mandatory qualifications for this role, however experience in an Anatomical Pathology environment and proven data entry skills would be highly advantageous.
