Our expertise spans in-house technical smarts, specialist engineering, integrated OEM partners, and dedicated crews of qualified tradespeople.

Our team is at the forefront of a diverse range of civil construction initiatives, including water and wastewater treatment plants, expansive water and wastewater networks, critical asset renewal projects, and flagship sustainable energy and utilities projects. Join us in this fast-paced, stable, and highly rewarding program, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the industry while benefiting from a robust pipeline of long-term, local opportunities.

The Opportunity…

We have a rare opportunity for a Program Manager to guide the strategic direction of large-scale water network, treatment plant construction, and upgrade projects. You will play a pivotal role in shaping delivery strategies, fostering a high-performance culture, and driving business growth, leveraging both successful project delivery and contributing to future bidding opportunities. Your ability to build strong relationships, prioritise safety, and implement innovative, operational solutions will be key to ensuring sustainable, high-quality outcomes for our clients. This is an exciting opportunity to influence and deliver impactful projects that set the standard for excellence in the industry.

Duties include:

  • Manage project execution, ensuring efficient resource allocation, contract management, and optimisation of assets.
  • Foster collaborative relationships across internal and external teams (design, site, safety, Zero Harm, community, environmental, and commercial functions) throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Drive project delivery in accordance with The Downer Standard, financial goals, and compliance with legislative and audit requirements.
  • Maintain strong client relationships, aligning expectations and ensuring seamless delivery in tenders, procurement, commercial aspects, and subcontractor management.

What can we offer you?

In addition to the below, we offer a culture of care, development and the stability of a long-term permanent role within a stable and established partnership. We work hard to maintain our culture of high performance and ensure safety remains at the forefront of our decisions.

  • Permanent opportunity within a growth industry that is continuously expanding and evolving.
  • Office based in Beenleigh with access to modern technology and facilities.
  • Suite of Downer benefits including health and wellness initiatives.
  • Join an organisation that truly values and practices flexible working options and has a demonstrated focus on diversity and inclusion.
  • Be part of something meaningful and contribute to serving the community whilst focusing on your specialty!

About you…

  • Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
  • Proven experience leading the delivery of complex capital projects within a partner delivery model.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, with the ability to review and provide reports and forecasts to ensure positive, sustainable outcomes and reinforce value for our customers.
  • A critical thinker who challenges the status quo to solve problems, increase revenue, improve margins, and gain a competitive advantage.
  • A champion of Zero Harm practices, with safety at the forefront of all business decisions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership capabilities, with a commitment to driving team development through individual growth.
