The Opportunity

The role is being offered as an initial 12-month non-ongoing contract with the potential to convert to a permanent position, as it is currently a vacant role. You'll be working closely with an experienced Assistant Director, making this a valuable stepping stone to further develop your APS career.
The Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Undertaking financial reporting and internal budgeting activities related to the department’s Capital Budget
- Providing cost model inputs and sound financial advice
- Reviewing Assets Under Construction (AUC) balances and maintaining asset data integrity
- Monitoring and tracking capital NPPs (New Policy Proposals) and coordinating information for the external budget Movement of Funds process
- Leading coordination of the Agency Budget Submission and contributing to improvements in external budget tasks
- Contributing to and supporting the implementation of enhanced financial policies and reporting capabilities
You will have a strong understanding of budgeting principles within the APS and be familiar with the Commonwealth Resource Management Framework. You’re likely to come from one of the following backgrounds:
- Experience in a Big 4 or similar consulting environment working with federal government clients
- APS6-level experience in an internal or capital budgeting function, with stable tenure and a track record of success
Salary / Rate
- $97k - $111k + 11.5% Super
