The Opportunity
BlueScope Building Components is looking for a Business Development Manager, National Distributorsto join the National Sales Teambased in Lyndhurst, Victoria. BlueScope Building Components, a division of BlueScope in Australia, manufactures and markets steel building products, solutions and services through its four leading brands: Lysaght, Fielders, Ranbuild and Kiteleys.
As a part of our dynamic, experienced team you will be responsible for managing the National Hardware / Distributor market segment working with major national customers. You will play a crucial role in identifying, developing, and executing strategies to drive growth. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with overall business objectives and to enhance the customer experience and maximize growth opportunities.
This opportunity includes a competitive remuneration package including a laptop, phone, company vehicle and participation in our bonus/incentive scheme.
What Will You Do?
As someone who takes initiative and is focused on achieving impactful business results, you’ll leverage your expertise and enthusiasm to deliver the following;
- market analysis and customer identification - conduct thorough market research to identify high-potential national growth customers and prospect new customers to expand market reach and drive growth
- strategic account relationships -establish new and maintain existing strategic national account relationships to drive long-term growth and ensure alignment with the national account strategy
- strategic planning and execution - develop and implement state-based engagement plans to support the national account strategy. Drive and coach the national plan via state-based engagement plans to ensure cohesive execution
- customer insights and engagement - gather and analyse customer feedback to understand needs and preferences. Develop personalised engagement strategies to enhance customer experience and satisfaction
- performance monitoring and reporting -track and report on the performance of growth initiatives. Use data-driven insights to refine strategies and optimize results. Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership
- Salesforce management - utilise Salesforce to manage customer relationships, track sales activities, and analyse data to drive strategic decisions
- sales excellence -implement best practices in sales processes and techniques to ensure high performance and achievement of sales targets

Along with your ability to understand and uncover customer needs transforming these into improved service offerings, you will bring;
- proven track record and experience in market analysis, customer segmentation, and strategic planning
- strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data to drive decision-making
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- experience in managing and coaching teams to achieve strategic objectives
- proficiency in Salesforce and a strong understanding of sales processes
