We are currently seeking applications for a Freedom of Information Officer (FOI) to join the Governance Risk & Assurance team at The Department of Treasury & Finance on an ongoing basis .
Remuneration: ASO4 – Salary Range ($76,561 - $80,256 p.a.).
About the opportunity:
The People and Performance Branch is a diverse and multi-disciplinary branch that delivers a range of corporate capabilities to the Department of Treasury and Finance (DTF). These services cover the business functions of Organisational Development, Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Work, Health and Safety, Strategic Communications and Engagement, Facilities, Governance, Risk and Assurance and Electorate Services.
The Governance Risk and Assurance Services (GRAS) team is responsible for developing and implementing frameworks, including plans and controls, relating to the functions of governance, risk management, audit, protective security and information releases within DTF. The team also manages the Freedom of Information function, ensuring compliance in accordance with legislative requirements.
About you
As an FOI Officer, you will be a confident and efficient individual who will provide quality and timely advice and assistance to internal stakeholders in relation to the interpretation of the FOI Act across DTF.
In addition, you will be highly efficient in coordinating and processing requests for information by working closely with DTF branches, senior executive, the Treasurer’s Office/Ministerial staff, other government agencies.
To be successful you will have:
- Ability to manage and coordinate accurate collection of information in a sensitive environment and analyse information to develop solutions.
- Experience in working as part of a team with a demonstrated commitment to collaboration and engagement, knowledge sharing and support.
- Experience in working with confidential matters ensuring appropriate systems to safeguard information is in place.
- Experience in record keeping and the maintenance of information registers for compliance purposes, and a demonstrated ability to use this information to prepare reports.
- Ability to identify process or practice improvement opportunities and facilitate implementation.
