Are you passionate about heritage conservation and keen to shape the future of South Australia's historic environment? We’re looking for a knowledgeable and committed Senior Heritage Architect/Officer to provide expert technical advice and contribute to the management of our state's valued non-Aboriginal cultural heritage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist heritage and architectural advice on Development Applications to heritage property owners and local councils.
  • Support development processes through both pre-lodgement consultation and post-lodgement direction, in line with Planning and Heritage Regulations.
  • Contribute to the formulation of strategic projects, policy documentation, and ministerial briefings.
  • Promote best practices in heritage conservation and ensure compliance with statutory frameworks governing State Heritage Places and Areas.

  • Strong expertise in architecture, heritage conservation, or a related field.
  • A detailed understanding of heritage planning and relevant South Australian legislation.
  • Experience in assessing heritage impacts in development and providing high-level technical advice.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders.

Contract:
Contract for 2 Years

Essential Qualifications:

Degree in Architecture (or other related discipline such as Planning or Archaeology subject to demonstration of appropriate skills and experience).

Special Conditions:

  • May be required to participate in fire management and associated duties.
  • A current driver’s license is required.
  • Some overnight absences may be required.
  • This role has been designated as a Position of Trust pursuant to the standards required in the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework. By applying for this role you consent to being screened under the process of obtaining a National Police Clearance (NPC), and to the Department requiring you to obtain a National Police Clearance (NPC).

Remuneration:
PO2, $88,255 min - $97,667 max p.a.
