About the Role

As the Head of Department - Junior Secondary, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Strengthen Junior Secondary identity and belonging for Year 7-8 students as they begin high school.
  • Coordinate Junior Secondary leadership opportunities and support Student Mentors across year levels.
  • Drive strategic and innovative approaches to curriculum, pedagogy, staff development, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and review of the school's explicit improvement agenda.
  • Build staff capability through a problem-of-practice approach to improvement, collaborative empowerment through faculty-based professional learning teams, coaching, mentoring.
  • Foster a growth mindset by creating a low-risk, high-challenge environment that encourages innovation and improvement.
  • Proven ability to lead collaborative staff practice and contribute effectively to team environments.
    Strong communicator with the ability to engage all stakeholders.
