About the role
- Be an effective and efficient member a mechanical team and provide monitoring and response management services (rostered shift work required) related to plant, equipment and facilities within the Departments responsibility area.
- Assist other Hospital staff in the fulfilment of their duties.
- Assist with providing technical input and undertaking tasks related both statutory obligated and other preventative maintenance task.
- Assist the Building, Engineering and Maintenance Service Department become a best practice service provider.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Provide assistance, monitoring and response management services related to plant, equipment and facilities related to mechanical and other health facility systems within the Departments responsibility area.
- Provide an on demand effective, efficient and welcomed response service to calls for technical help by other Hospital staff.
- This position is required to provide holiday and continuous sick leave cover for Shift AC Drivers and therefore shift work will be required from time to time to ensure that 24-hour cover is maintained.
- Answer paged and other communicated calls for assistance from other staff and respond in accord with established Department procedures.
- Note all responsibility area equipment of service faults and raise the appropriate work requisitions.
- Monitor equipment and services in the format required by other supervisory staff.
- Provide assistance with fulfilling the Department's preventative maintenance programmes.
