About the Role:

An exciting opportunity is presented to work within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network as a Clinical Nurse or Mental Health Nurse within the SA Intellectual Disability Health Service (SAIDHS). SAIDHS is the state-wide health service for adults with intellectual disabilities and complex care needs.

The SAIDHS Clinical Nurse or Mental Health Nurse works in collaboration with the patient, their family, carers, NDIS providers, community clinicians, and other members of the SAIDHS interdisciplinary team, to effectively plan and provide healthcare services for people with intellectual disabilities. Working out of a community-based setting at Ingle Farm, the Clinical Nurse Mental Health provides clinical assessment and support in collaboration with SAIDHS clinicians and liaises with GPs and other primary health care providers.

As a Clinical Nurse or Mental Health Nurse, you will provide nursing services in a variety of health service settings which have been consolidated by experience and/or further study, developing from a competent to proficient practitioner. In this role you will accept accountability for your own practice standards, activities delegated to others and the guidance and development of less experienced staff. The Clinical Nurse role continues to be predominantly clinical in nature, however employees are assigned appropriate portfolios.

To be eligible for this position, you must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate or you must be enrolled in an approved mental health course or hold a qualification in mental health practice.
