About the Opportunity
The Assistive Technology Support Technician has the responsibility to provide essential technical support for assistive technology devices that help individuals with disabilities live more independently.
This includes, among other things:
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for assistive technology devices across hardware and software platforms via phone, email, remote access, and chat.
- Support customers, therapists, families, and colleagues with technical inquiries, training, and product use, always demonstrating empathy and patience.
- Diagnose and resolve software, configuration, and hardware issues, escalating or performing in-house repairs when necessary.
- Configure, reset, and prepare loan and rental devices for shipping; assemble devices from component level as required.
- Becoming the internal lead for the mechanical side of installing assistive technology devices on wheelchairs, beds or desks, using Rehadapt mounting systems. This includes installations, troubleshooting, and hands-on setup of mounting systems.
- Contribute to internal IT support, adhere to repair procedures, and maintain a clean, safe workspace.
Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team across local and remote locations, and contribute to continuous team improvements
About You
This role reports to the Assistive Technology Support Manager and works in collaboration with the IT Support Technician. You’ll be working closely with families, therapists, and our internal team to troubleshoot issues, provide guidance, and ensure the smooth operation and delivery of these life-changing tools.
To be successful in this role you will have/be:
- Strong knowledge of electrical equipment and specifically hand-held devices
- Understanding of IT networks
- Detailed knowledge of various computer operating systems including Windows, MacOS and iOS
- Good understanding of computer hardware
- IT Troubleshooting ability
- Strong organisation skills and the ability to coordinate installation operations
- High attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines under pressure
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- A kind, empathetic, and helpful demeanour
- Comprehensive technical knowledge
- Friendly, patient, and confident with customers
- A current Australian driver’s licence and your own vehicle
