This is a unique opportunity to lead and manage the Wildlife Permissions team to strategically coordinate, implement and evaluate systems and policy relating to wildlife authorities under the Nature Conservation Act 1992. This includes overseeing the assessment and issuing of a range of authorities relating to wildlife, managing the sustainable harvest of macropods across Queensland, meeting performance targets associated with these, and the ongoing development and improvement of policy, procedures and electronic systems associated with these.For This Role, You'll Need
- Knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge of the current policy and legislative environment as it applies to the management of Queensland's protected wildlife.
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects, including possessing leadership and supervisory skills to manage a team to achieve desired outcomes.
- Highly developed negotiating, interpersonal and written communication skills and cultivates productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate confidently on complex policy matters, considering and discussing issues and stakeholder views credibly and thoughtfully.
- Demonstrated high level analytical problem solving and research skills to support the development of strategic advice, policy and legislation.
- Role model Program Leader leadership behaviours as outlined in the Leadership competencies for Queensland.
