THE OPPORTUNITY
Location: Bells Creek, Sunshine Coast
We are seeking an experienced Product Implementation Technologist to join our Kilcoy Cuisine Solutions Team and help bring new products to life. This position is part of our New Product Development (NPD) department at Bells Creek with occasional travel to our corporate office in Birtinya as needed. Reporting to the NPD Manager, this role presents an exciting opportunity for a skilled Food Technologist—preferably with experience in raw and cooked meat proteins and ready-made meal solutions—to manage and oversee the entire NPD lifecycle, from initial concept through to commercialisation.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Contributing to the successful execution of the KCS strategy by implementing food solution activities, driving change initiatives, and collaborating with business units
- Developing recipes for NPD products across Kilcoy Cuisine Solutions
- Leading and managing both in-house and external trials for NPD
- Ensuring that developed products are both cost-effective and commercially viable
- Preparing NPD summaries, reports, and providing input on raw material and finished goods specifications
- Overseeing product validation activities, such as cooking, packaging, and shelf-life testing
- Leading communication with key internal and external stakeholders on ingredients, samples, PDS, SL, costs, etc.
- Supporting the commercial team with samples, addressing customer queries, and preparing customer presentations
- Driving continuous improvement in the development of new procedures, systems, and processes
- Assisting the NPD Manager with proactive, collaborative third-party research studies
- Leading and managing NPD projects within the Food Solutions division
- Advocating for and implementing the stage gate process while engaging cross-functional teams
ABOUT YOU
To be successful you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture and Food Sciences (or similar)
- Demonstrated meat protein experience (raw and cooked) in a similar role
- Sous-vide technology experience
- Ability to display excellent judgement, drive, initiative, and sense of urgency
- Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, and organisational skills
- Demonstrated internal and external stakeholder management (essential)
- Commercial and technical awareness of ingredients, process, and customer requirements
