The successful applicant will be based across two major hospitals within the Wide Bay region. Together, these hospitals deliver a broad spectrum of mental health services, encompassing acute inpatient care, sub-acute and rehabilitation programs, and extensive community-based support. The facilities serve a population exceeding 200,000 individuals, including residents from surrounding rural communities.
This is a senior clinical leadership role, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of adults experiencing a wide range of complex mental health conditions. You will be responsible for delivering expert, evidence-based psychiatric care across various service settings, including acute inpatient units, outpatient clinics, and hospital-in-the-home programs. The role involves direct clinical care, consultation-liaison responsibilities, and active participation in the coordination of services across the mental health continuum.
Working collaboratively within multidisciplinary mental health teams, you will play a key role in promoting recovery-oriented practices, enhancing patient outcomes, and supporting individuals in rebuilding their lives. This includes working alongside psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, occupational therapists, peer workers, and other allied health professionals to develop and implement individualised care plans. In addition to clinical duties, you will also contribute to quality improvement initiatives, staff development, and service planning aimed at strengthening mental health services across the region.
