The Information Services Directorate sits within the People and Corporate Services Division and provides integral services in the information and communication technology space to the entire Department. Information Services partner with our customers and stakeholders to support and drive the development of innovative, digital, and customer-focused outcomes and services.

The Opportunity
The Lead Infrastructure Engineer position resides within the Cloud and Infrastructure Services Team of the Information Services Directorate. The role contributes to the delivery of a range of IT services but is particularly focused on the delivery of hybrid on-premise and cloud compute and storage services supporting both physical and cloud hosted infrastructure and applications.

The role leads a small infrastructure team and requires close collaboration with our vendors and contractors including the coordination of their work to support the effective management of on-premises and cloud infrastructure for the department.

The role is responsible for developing and maintaining the department’s compute and storage environment and includes supporting key technology management processes, such as backup, disaster recovery and engagement with third parties to create and track compute and storage related work requests.

The role undertakes analysis, monitoring and investigation to support the ongoing delivery of data centre and identity management services both on premises and in a multi-cloud environment whilst also contributing to a safe, diverse and healthy work environment.

Key Selection Criteria
A certification in ICT or tertiary education aligning with management and maintenance of ICT Infrastructure.

AWS and Azure certification in a relevant field is desirable.

Current driver’s licence

Special Conditions
A National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment in the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.

Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.

Remuneration
ASO6 - $98,478 to $104,165 pa + superannuation
