This fixed term temporary full-time role with Anatomical Pathology at the Princess Alexandra hospital will assist in developing and implementing frameworks and strategies to continue the development of the state-wide Anatomical Pathology service as a single functional entity based on universal best practice and reflected through uniform standards and practices.

Key competencies (role specific criteria)

You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrated contemporary knowledge, skills and ability in Anatomical Pathology, participate in the local and remote frozen section service, perform on site and remote MDTs, be able to participate in the after-hours on call roster, and a high level of professionalism required in the position, especially objectivity.
  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication skills necessary for all aspects of the position.
  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge and abilities necessary to conduct relevant training, teaching, research, investigation, analysis and managemen
  • Knowledge of the ISO 15189 and NATA Medical Testing Requirements demonstrating continued accreditation in your clinical specialty for all laboratories across a diverse network

Qualifications, registrations and other requirements

  • Mandatory requirements are a medical qualification and tertiary qualification in Anatomical Pathology (FRCPA, or equivalent) and be registerable with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Specialist Pathologist.
  • The incumbents must be Fellows of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia or equivalent.
