We have exciting upcoming opportunity for an experienced customer service or regulatory professional to join our dynamic frontline team at the Wage Inspectorate Victoria, establishing a new function to assist in addressing workplace complaints.

Reporting to the Team Leader, the Advisory Services and Referral Officer will play a key role in the establishment of the new service, assisting the Victorian public with complaints about potentially unlawful and criminal behaviour in their workplace.

In addition to the establishment of a new function, Advisory Services and Referral Officers also respond to enquiries from the public (employers and employees, peak bodies and representatives), and provide information about Victoria's Industrial laws, including: the Long Service Leave Act 2018, the Child Employment Act 2003, Child Wellbeing and Safety Act 2005, and the Owner Driver and Forestry Contractors Act 2005.

Advisory Services and Referral Officers play an important role as one of the first points of contact within the Inspectorate, providing valuable information, triaging enquiries and reports and making referrals to our dedicated investigation teams. The role also supports the broader operations of the team and the Inspectorate in accordance with fluctuating demands and organisational needs.

To succeed in this role, you will have proven experience in a service delivery culture and demonstrated skills providing empathetic and diplomatic customer service. As we are a frontline team, excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, in addition to superior time management skills to ensure we can deliver quality information to the public in a timely manner.
