Description:

  • Great opportunity to join Youth Justice on a ongoing basis in Melbourne.
  • Contribute to the development of Policies and Procedures and Practice guidelines for the Youth Justice Custodial Operating Manual and Community Practice Manual
  • Support the review and development of significant state-wide Youth Justice policy.

The Opportunity

  • Ongoing, full-time position based in Melbourne.
  • VPS Grade 4 role: $97,955 - $111,142 per year plus superannuation.
  • Assist in the development and writing of the Youth Justice Custodial Operating Manual, liaising with Operational Staff and stakeholders as required to develop Operating Policies and Procedures.
  • Prepare documentation for consultation with stakeholders, key decision-making bodies and senior executives, and support the implementation of agreed outcomes.
  • Research, analyse and prepare clear written materials including policy and procedural papers and presentations.
  • Assist in the development and writing of the Youth Justice Community Operating Manual and other Community-specific documents as needed.

To be successful in this role you will have knowledge of current policy direction, research and issues within youth justice or the criminal justice system more broadly, or the ability to understand these issues quickly. You will also have strong writing skills with a dedication to clear and concise communication.

You will be required to obtain a Working with Children Check, which you will need to maintain for the period of employment.
