An immediate opportunity exists for an AO8 Manager to join the Regional Engagement Services team in the Department of Education's Student Support Branch.This is a great opportunity for a proactive leader with a passion for program development, project management and training delivery. Travel would be a requirement of this role throughout the state.
This is a temporary vacancy available until 31 December 2025, unless otherwise determined.

About The Role
As AO8 Manager, reporting directly to the Director in the Regional Engagement Services team, you will play a key role in the development and implementation of the Department's strategies to support student engagement including the delivery of targeted case management training. - Provide high level advice and support to senior officers on policy and strategy relating to Strategic Engagement Branch.
- Contribute, as a member of the senior management team, to setting the strategic direction for the unit and ensuring the effectiveness of policies, standards and procedures.
- Coordinate and contribute to the strategic direction and activities as defined in priorities set by senior management.
- Provide ongoing evaluation of the activities and work practices within the functional area of the position to ensure alignment with changing corporate goals.
- Lead and manage projects and coordinate the development of systemic initiatives relating to departmental priorities.
- Ensure the optimal use of human and financial resources to achieve agreed goals, oversee the management of State and Commonwealth funds, where applicable, and manage reporting requirements.
- Ensure effective communication, integration, coordination and liaison occurs within nominated area, across the department and with other external stakeholders.
- Establish and cultivate effective relationships and networks with key stakeholders and clients.
- Prepare and review briefing material, correspondence and reports for the Minister, senior departmental officers, government agencies and other entities on issues related to the functional area of the Strategic Engagement branch.
- Promote leadership and foster a challenging, equitable, ethical and safe work environment for staff, which encourages commitment, skills development, professional growth and continuous improvement.
- Use, model and build team capability in effective and productive work practices enabled by digital technologies.
