The Exciting Role:
From it’s humble beginnings, our much loved nudie brand has grown to be the clear market leader in the Chilled Juice category. We’re super proud of what we’ve created and we’ve had lots of fun along the way (after all, that’s been a key to our success at nudie!). We continue to strive to create goodness in every bottle of juice we make and also to create good, wherever and whenever we can, even in our workplace. We have an exciting opportunity to lead, support and deliver the strategic direction and growth of nudie BU brands by managing the implementation of key brand activities including above & below the line campaigns, new product development and execution. In addition, contribute to the BU strategy development and team implementation of the overall nudie BU strategy, addressing key brand health and financial metrics.
- Marketing lead for the nudie business portfolio, supporting the Sales & Category team in the business’ relationship with Majors and other Channels.
- Development of 12-18 month Brand Plans providing recommendations to achieve agreed profit, market share and growth objectives in conjunction with Category & Sales lead.
- Development of long-term strategic plans with +3 year horizon in conjunction with other functional leads.
- Brand custodian within the business ensuring nudie positioning continues to meet changing consumer and market trends.
- Develop and implement marketing mix (6Ps) to ensure strong value proposition.
- Develop and implement communication strategy for the nudie brand within Juice that is insight-based, targeted and measurable.
- Provide direction on Consumer and Customer Facing Communications, including brand campaigns, customer complaints, websites, etc, working with and aligning relevant functions (Legal, Quality, etc)
- Identify and advise on marketing promotional opportunities.
- Own the relationships for the external brand agencies (creative, website, social and copywriting), initiating regular campaign and performance reviews (at least annually).
- Consumer centric marketing approach with regular review and analysis of key internal and external information sources to identify key issues and opportunities.
- Work closely with the Sales & Category team to regularly monitor and review nudie portfolio and competitor performance against key metrics to influence short, medium and long term decisions, for example the Brand Health Survey or other consumer/category deep dives, etc.
- Develop market research (quality and quantity) when required to assess consumer behaviour and perceptions.
- Support Sales team with relevant consumer insight for customer range reviews, drive consumer and business agenda.
- Turn insight into action with marketing initiatives (e.g. campaign messaging, partnerships with relevant parties, NPD, etc) that drive the consumer journey and ultimately penetration.
- Own Project Management of all marketing initiatives in relation to the nudie BU portfolio (in conjunction with Project Manager where relevant).
- Champion, support and embed the Stage gate process, working closely with all relevant stakeholders to ensure successful profitable launches.
- Development of 1-3 year innovation pipeline for relevant portfolio. Identify, quantify, and recommend insight-based NPD opportunities.
- Drive effective A&P budget management optimising marketing investment.
- P&L management and recommended financials working with Sales & Finance.
- Champion Category and Consumer needs balancing with commercial sustainability.
- Actively demonstrate marketing leadership, championing the nudie brand and ensuring the business acts within the law with respect to advertising, product safety and trade practices.
- Manage performance and career development of direct report and self.
- Facilitate and maintain high standards throughout the marketing team, providing coaching to direct report with consistent and frequent feedback to engage and motivate.
To Succeed With Us:
- Tertiary qualified in Marketing/Brand Management or a related discipline
- Training with Nielsen (or Aztec) and Quantium seen as a strong advantage
- +8 years marketing experience, preferably within a top tier FMCG company.
- Strategic mind with ability to turn strategy into execution.
- Well versed in NPD development and Stage gate principles.
- Proven experience in managing multiple projects & leading a project team.
- Understands implications of industry, regulatory and community practices and applies principles responsibly.
- Detailed understanding of commercial business drivers and metrics assessing revenue, profit, brand value, ROI and COGS
- Strong leader cross-functionally with exceptional communication skills.
- Confident self-starter with a continuous improvement mindset.
- A team player attitude is imperative, must be solutions focussed with an ability to work with ambiguity, manage multiple priorities and collaborative effectively.
