Description:
This role forms a key part of the development and delivery of environmental support to residents and businesses across the region, and consists of a mix of operational and strategic environmental health work:
- Develop, implement, and manage environmental health and sustainability programs.
- Oversee and enforce environmental health regulations within the organisation.
- Provide expert advice on ESG matters to stakeholders and the wider community.
- Conduct environmental health risk assessments and devise mitigation strategies.
- Lead public education and awareness initiatives on environmental health issues.
- Collaborate with external agencies to advance environmental health goals.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of the implemented sustainability programs.
- Champion the organisation's environmental health and sustainability mission.
Requirements:
A successful Senior Environmental Health Officer should have:
- A degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, or a related field.
- Proven experience working in environmental health within the public sector.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to drive ESG initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of environmental health legislation and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with stakeholders and the community.
