Our client, Key Industries Pty Ltd, is a leading manufacturer of coffins, caskets, and acoustic panels, operating from a cutting-edge 5,500 square metre facility in Wetherill Park, Sydney. With a strong focus on quality, innovation, and sustainability, the business has long-term service agreements and trusted relationships with its clients.
To support continued growth and ensure operational excellence, Key Industries is seeking a full-time Production Facility to oversee the performance, maintenance, and improvement of plant operations, equipment, and systems. This role reports directly to the Director and requires close collaboration with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Sales departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor, analyse, and enhance the efficiency and reliability of plant equipment and systems
- Plan, schedule, and oversee preventative maintenance programs to minimise downtime and extend equipment life
- Troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues, coordinating with maintenance and technical teams for timely resolution
- Support the development and implementation of plant upgrades, modifications, and continuous improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards across all plant operations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute capital improvement projects
- Maintain accurate documentation including equipment manuals, maintenance logs, and engineering records
- Evaluate and recommend the acquisition of new machinery, tools, or systems for process improvement
- Participate in risk assessments, incident investigations, and the development of safety protocols
- Provide technical support for the commissioning and optimisation of new equipment and systems
- Train operational staff on equipment use, preventative maintenance, and plant procedures
- Drive cost-effective, energy-efficient, and sustainable plant operations practices
- Assist in the preparation of technical reports, proposals, and tender documentation
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plant Engineering, or related discipline
- A minimum of one year experience in plant, maintenance, or production engineering
- Strong knowledge of plant systems, equipment, and preventive maintenance strategies
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude
- Working knowledge of Australian standards and WHS regulations
- Experience in lean manufacturing, process optimisation, and continuous improvement
- Proficient in the use of plant management systems and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication, team collaboration, and documentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
