$8,000 sign-on bonus

New prison officers are now eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $8,000. Six months after commencing, you will receive a payment of $4,000. Then, after one year’s full-time employment, you will receive an additional payment of $4,000. Conditions apply, see website for details.

About the role

Prison officers support the rehabilitation of people in custody and help maintain the safety and security of the facility.

Most people in custody return to the community, and the focus of a prison officer is to create opportunities for them to make better decisions.

It’s a challenging yet rewarding role and is considered one of the best kept secrets in all of Victoria.

What’s in it for you

✔ Earn up to $91,202 with a base salary of $63,469 (80 hour fortnight) plus penalty rates and overtime

✔ Complete a Certificate III in Correctional Practice (Adult Custodial)
✔ Regional relocation assistance of up to $10,000 for a move to regional Victoria.*

✔ Complete a Certificate III in Correctional Practice (Adult Custodial) which, when completed, increases your base salary up to $67,335
