About the Role

You will join our Estate Management team within the Government House branch in the Corporate Services group.

The Senior Coordinator Site Operations will oversee the seamless daily operations of Government House, ensuring the site’s presentation, security, and functionality meet the highest standards.

Working closely with the Estate Manager, you will manage a diverse portfolio including maintenance, groundskeeping, contractor services, public events, and visitor programs.

With a strong focus on heritage preservation and operational excellence, you'll play a key role in balancing official Vice Regal functions with public access and engagement in one of NSW’s most significant historic sites.

Government House Sydney

Government House Sydney, the residence and the seat of administration of the Governor of New South Wales – the oldest statutory office in Australia - is staffed by employees of the NSW Premier’s Department. The team at Government House Sydney supports the Governor in the conduct of constitutional, ceremonial and community duties.

Collectively, the five functional areas (Protocol, Household, Estate Management, Communications and Secretariat) ensure that every aspect of the Vice Regal Couple’s program of official engagements and community activities are appropriately coordinated, managed and planned; that the official residence is suitably maintained; that the administrative arm of the organisation operates in accordance with relevant policies and guidelines; and that the heritage buildings, contents and grounds are managed and presented to the highest standard.

We're Looking For

  • Experience coordinating operations in a Vice Regal, official, cultural, museum, or heritage environment
  • Proven ability to manage daily site operations, utilities, and service contractors
  • Strong experience managing public access and visitor services, including tours and events
  • Ability to lead and coordinate casual staff and volunteers, including rostering and training
  • Experience liaising with contractors, suppliers, and government stakeholders
  • Strong organisational and communication skills to keep staff informed of operational activities
  • Experience coordinating security services and emergency preparedness, including plans and drills
  • Ability to ensure site presentation meets high standards for heritage and official functions
  • Familiarity with WHS compliance, equity, diversity, and inclusion principles
  • Skilled at managing multiple priorities and stakeholders with diplomacy and discretion
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required by the Vice Regal program
