The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Compliance Analyst to provide a critical role within Education and Vocational Training.
About the Business Unit
The Offender Services and Reintegration (OSR) division of Corrections Victoria (CV) is responsible for providing best practice interventions which aim to reduce the risk of reoffending including case management, education and employment, prison industries and rehabilitation and reintegration supports. The division contributes to a safer community by supporting a safe and humane corrections system that provides opportunities for rehabilitation, supports reintegration and works toward Aboriginal self-determination.
The Education and Vocational Training (EVT) branch, located within the OSR, is responsible for the strategic direction, funding, leadership, development, implementation and monitoring of education, training and employment programs for prisoners. The EVT branch works on a range of initiatives that aim to improve education, training and employment outcomes for prisoners, thereby reducing the risk of re-offending.
About the Role
The Compliance Analyst is responsible for undertaking audits and preparing a range of reports to enable effective decision-making and ensure compliance as part of continuous improvement; and developing and embedding new processes as required. The Compliance Analyst is responsible for undertaking regular reporting in relation to EVT contracts and activities.
The Compliance Analyst will identify and investigate issues, building strong relationships with stakeholders to collectively resolve these issues. The Compliance Analyst will lead the development and embedding of appropriate policies, processes and standards within the branch, documenting concise business processes and procedures, undertake process improvement projects, and work across a range of project for the EVT team.
Some of your duties will include:
* Develop strategies that contribute to strategic aims of the EVT team through identifying, analysing and responding to emerging strategic issues for the Victorian correctional education system, including interpretation of statistics and conducting environmental scans of other jurisdictions.
* Identify and implement improvements to systems, reporting tools, templates and processes, in order to streamline reporting processes and improve the quality of data.
* Prepare complex strategic reports and briefings for senior management and provide authoritative strategic advice on the results of analysis, including the identification and evaluation of emerging issues, trends and linkages relevant to correctional education, training and employment including options for risk management.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience relating to the vocational education and training and/or the employment sectors.
* Experience in the use and analysis of Information Management Systems and or experience in working with other data managing technologies is highly desirable.
Qualifications
* There are no mandatory qualifications required for this role, however it is preferred that the successful applicant will have experience in data analysis and qualifications in education and training with qualifications in and an understanding of the Vocational Educational and Training and/or Employment sectors.
