Description:
We are seeking a motivated and capable professional to develop, coordinate and deliver regulatory and policy inputs into Agriculture Victoria's Exotic Disease Animal Preparedness Program and plant biosecurity responses. The focus of this work is to ensure that the legislative framework and broader associated policies underpinning exotic animal disease (EAD) and plant biosecurity responses are in place, with a specific emphasis on supporting the Victorian apiary industry's transition to management of varroa mite as it becomes endemic.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated policy skills and experience, along with strong stakeholder engagement, communication and organisational skills. They will be confident managing timelines and deliverables, developing capability-building resources, and working across teams and government agencies to ensure policy work aligns with broader legislative and operational priorities.

A positive, 'can-do' attitude is essential, along with a commitment to fostering a culture of excellence, responsiveness and flexibility. The ideal candidate will be a strong team player with experience leading or contributing to complex policy projects.
