THE ROLE
The Senior Policy Officer leads the design and delivery of activities that drive evidence use in government and the children and families services sector. Projects include knowledge translation to understand what works to support children and families (the Menu of Evidence), implementation science strategies to embed evidence-based practice (the Family Preservation and Reunification Response), and stakeholder engagement to support evidence-based community services (Outcomes, Practice and Evidence Network). This role also supports the broader work unit's research, evaluation and implementation needs when required.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
1. Manage and contribute to strategic policy projects and policy analysis relating to initiatives to support understanding and uptakeof evidence-informed policy and practice within the department and child and family service system.2. Review, prepare, and present detailed, comprehensive reports, briefs, cabinet and agency submissions on complex policy issues as well as preparing regular and ad hoc reports and correspondence. This includes reports, papers and summaries of research findings and/or evaluation advice for various audiences.3. Provide authoritative advice, reasoned recommendations and innovative solutions to complex and sensitive issues based on comprehensive research. promote increased knowledge and understanding of evidence and to inform stakeholders, policy and practice
