Description:

Procurement and Facilities Services currently has a temporary full-time Procurement Officer position available within the General Goods and Services category team. Primarily supporting the contract management activities for school uniforms, the ideal candidate will possess high level verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of policies and procedures. This role requires liaising with multiple internal and external stakeholders to provide support and assistance with various matters related to contractual obligations.

About the Role

As the Procurement Officer you will have responsibility for the following:

  • Supporting schools to undertake procurement processes (e.g. Tenders and RFQs) including initial planning, development of documentation and establishment of contracts, ensuring compliance with state and departmental procurement policy, achievement of desired business outcomes and delivery of value for money.
  • Prepare reports, correspondence, and submissions to key stakeholders and clients.
  • Contribute to negotiations with suppliers and liaise with personnel both internal and external to the department.
  • Liaise with internal clients to determine requirements and progress of procurement projects, and external contractors in the conduct of less complex procurement projects.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of school uniform-specific contract management tools, templates and registers
  • Conduct research into procurement-related matters, identifying, assessing options and possible strategies to resolve issues.
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to build and enhance existing working relationships both internal and external to the department.
