About Us:

The Central Information Point (CIP) has been formed as a result of a recommendation from the Royal Commission into Family Violence to better serve the needs of victims.

It consists of a co-located team of employees from Victoria Police, Corrections Victoria, Magistrates' Court of Victoria (Courts) and Department of Families, Fairness and Housing, who perform the role of CIP data custodians and provide a summary of targeted information, upon request from family violence agencies.

About the Role:

The CIP Officer will work in a multi-disciplinary team co-located in the CIP Operations unit, Family Safety Victoria. Upon request, the CIP Officer will access relevant Corrections Victoria databases to assess and collate a summary of relevant family violence information.

Some of your other duties will include:

  • Providing advice on the quality, accuracy and relevance of data, including verifying identity of perpetrators.
  • Input and contribution to the preparation of CIP reports including the appropriate analysis of available information.
  • Maintaining accurate and complete records of work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and Family Safety Victoria and Corrections Victoria records.

About You:

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • An understanding, appreciation and awareness of family violence risk factors which may be observed in Corrections Victoria clients and data systems.
  • Proficiency in the use and operational application of Corrections Victoria data systems E*Justice and PIMS.
  • High level analysis and assessment skills.

Qualificactions:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or experience is desirable.
