Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Commercial Manager to provide consistent commercial, risk and contract management leadership to support GHD’s governance and overall performance throughout the project life cycle.
This position can be located in Perth or Adelaide.
This position offers a variety of work and will see you:
• Assisting with the positioning of GHD to undertake services.
• Working collaboratively to agree our commercial and risk mitigation strategies including formulation and negotiation of contractual departures to align contract terms with GHD’s risk appetite.
• Participating in regional tender reviews and, if applicable, subsequent gateway approvals including assisting bid teams with the preparation of briefing presentations/notes to senior management.
• Preparing contract management tools including Contract Management Plans.
• Collaborate with project delivery teams and other stakeholders to deliver robust commercial and contractual performance of the contract and successful project outcomes for GHD.
• Managing variation and extension of time claims including preparation of all required contractual notices within prescribed timeframes.
• Assisting with the preparation of payment claims that comply with relevant security of payment legislation.
• Assisting with the preparation and negotiation of subcontract or subconsultancy agreements.
• In collaboration with Legal Counsel and the Operations Manager, manage the resolution of disputes/claims arising under contracts.
To be successful in this role you will require the following:
• Strong commercial and legal acumen in the professional services and/or construction contracting industry with a minimum of 15 years’ experience in the successful delivery of projects and/or in a corporate governance role.
• Detailed understanding of the commercial frameworks, strategies and drivers of construction contractor, government, quasi-government and private-sector clients.
• Extensive experience of negotiating commercial contracts.
• Extensive experience in the successful commercial and contract management of projects.
