About The Role
The role of Lead Operator Water Treatment is to oversee the day-to-day work, operation, security and maintenance of Council's Water Treatment Plants.
This role will see you lead a team of staff and additional contractors responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Plant, ensuring a cost effective service that meets the regulatory requirements of the NSW Government Departments and legislative requirements to meet defined levels of service and quality for the community.
This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.
To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have
A Diploma level qualification in Science, or Engineering related field with relevant training and experience within a municipal water treatment plant OR Certificate IV qualification in Water Operations, with demonstrated solid contemporary experience in a similar role, combined with ongoing professional development. Current Dam Safety Surveillance Certification. Current Construction General Induction Card - NSW SafeWork or equivalent. Current Class C Drivers Licence. Senior First Aid certificate. Current Confined Spaces Certification. Fluoridation of NSW Public Water Supplies Certification. Statement of Attainment in Operate and Control Liquefied Chlorine Gas Disinfection. Current Statement of Attainment in Work Safely at Heights. Current Boat Licence. Proficient in swimming to perform self-rescue. Demonstrated experience in a senior position at an operational level of a water treatment plant.Knowledge and experience in monitoring dam safety surveillance. Knowledge of the legislative, technical and operational aspects of treating water in accordance with regulatory guidelines.

Other Important Information
The commencing salary for this position is up to $90.2k per year. Central Coast Council also provides progression opportunities for employees to progress up to the maximum salary of $104.5k on completion of assessment of skills and performance 11.5% superannuation We have a permanent full-time role available. This role will be able to access a 9 day fortnight.This role is located at the Somersby Treatment Plant.
Council may create an eligibility list from this recruitment process and may utilise this eligibility list to fill other permanent or temporary vacancies.
