As an Access to Information Officer, you’ll be responsible for processing Access to Information requests in line with legislation, guidelines and company processes.

You’ll assist staff and stakeholders by providing information and guidance on the release of documents and the requirements under the relevant Acts. This role also helps EML meet its legal obligations by supporting the timely and accurate release of information.
This will be a full time, permanent position based in the Melbourne office, with flexibility to work from home up to 3 days per week.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process Access to Information requests in line with relevant legislation, WorkSafe guidelines, and organisational procedures.
  • Review and process Access to Information requests to ensure they meet the required minimum standards before releasing information.
  • Maintain accurate records and file all information requests and related documents in line with records management guidelines.
  • Record details of Access to Information requests, along with decisions and actions taken, to support the preparation of operational, organisational, and government reporting.
  • Keep information management systems and records up to date on a daily basis to ensure accuracy and easy access to current information.

ABOUT YOU

  • Strong computer skills, with the ability to quickly learn and navigate various software programs and systems used for data management and communication.
  • Excellent attention to detail, ensuring that all information is accurately recorded and processed, along with strong time management skills to meet deadlines and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also thriving in a collaborative, diverse team environment where open communication and teamwork are key.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, allowing you to clearly and professionally convey information to colleagues and stakeholders, both in writing and during verbal interactions.
