Position: Senior Maintenance Planner (Lead)
Location: Muswellbrook, New South Wales Work Schedule: On-site full-time, 1 RDO a month Join our team at AGL Macquarie, where we are dedicated to maintaining operational excellence and safety.
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Senior Maintenance Planner to lead our planning team and ensure the effective delivery of maintenance planning and scheduling functions.
Reporting to the Planning, Reliability and Business Process Manager, the Senior Maintenance Planner will be responsible for overseeing the activities of the Maintenance Planners and Maintenance Schedulers.
This role involves running a team of 13 direct reports, including AGL employees and contractors, and ensuring that maintenance planning and scheduling are delivered in accordance with business requirements and AGL Work Management Standards.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Development: Provide leadership to the planning team, monitor team performance, coach team members, and perform gap analysis to improve performance.
Maintenance Planning: Lead the Maintenance Planning and Scheduling Team for Bayswater Station and associated plant and infrastructure. Ensure effective planning and scheduling for day-to-day maintenance activities and forced outages.
Health, Safety & Environment: Coach a proactive HSE culture, ensure compliance with HSE policies and standards, and lead or delegate HSE investigations as required.
Budgeting and Expenditure Management: Manage all budget, forecasting, and expenditure processes for the maintenance team, including future budgeting and in-year budget management.
Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in maintenance systems and processes, driving efficiency and minimising waste.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Engineering Degree / Mechanical or Electrical Trades experience and/or qualification, or significant relevant experience in the industry.
- Proven technical expertise in planning and scheduling, with knowledge and experience with SAP CMMS and scheduling tools.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills to balance conflicting priorities and work effectively across teams.
- HSE focus, modelling safe and environmentally responsible working behaviours.
- Good business acumen and cost management skills, with the ability to manage and prioritise work based on deadlines and milestones.
