About the Opportunity
We are seeking an organised and astute finance officer preferably with strong accounts payable experience to join us for an exciting 12- 14 month (part time 0.7 FTE/3.5 days a week) maternity leave cover starting July 2025
At Mitchell Shire Council the Finance Officer works with all areas of the organisation to provide a customer-focused finance service.
You would be responsible for:
Management of the payment process including processing, system management and improvements, payments, remitting and reconciling
Initiating payment runs to generate electronic funds transfer payments and BPAY Payments for regular suppliers and generate associated reports
Routine investigation of enquiries as directed
Provide internal and external customer service including training and managing enquiries
Maintain petty cash and process reimbursements
This role is a fixed term, part time opportunity with remuneration beginning at $69.2K (Band 4) plus superannuation (pro-rata).
About You
Our ideal candidate will have the following experience/attributes:
Excellent verbal, written and numerical abilities.
Be capable of working independently and with high attention to detail
Ensure processes are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
Extensive use of computers and database maintenance.
People focused and outcomes driven and be able to work with enthusiasm and in a positive manner.
