The roleThis position is responsible for the provision of high-quality policy advice and effective program management in relation to Sports Wagering and Competition Manipulation.
Directors are required to undertake work with a high level of complexity and operate under broad direction, exercising a significant degree of autonomy and performing an important leadership role. Directors are responsible for influencing and developing strategy, policies, priorities and operational practices based on high level decision-making and judgement, providing a high level of advice to the Executive and managing work programs of strategic and operational significance.
Directors are also responsible for initiating, establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. They must have highly developed writing skills, with demonstrated experience in the preparation of clear and succinct written advice and content drawing together complex quantitative and qualitative information. They must be capable of putting together and managing teams and contributing to a positive workplace culture, consistent with the objectives of the Executive.

The duties of the Director, Sports Wagering and Competition Manipulation include but are not limited to:
- Provide high quality, timely and accurate advice for the Executive to fulfil the agency's policy advice responsibilities on relevant matters. This includes Ministerial briefings, submissions, QTB's and other correspondence as required.
- Lead the implementation of the agency's sports wagering and competition manipulation strategy, including working with the Executive to identify opportunities for engagement of stakeholders to enhance the SIA reputation and expertise in relevant fora.
- Lead and develop the skills of a small high performing team - with a focus on ensuring suitable knowledge sharing and no single point of failure exists across the scope of the team's responsibilities. Be a vocal and proactive member of the agency's Senior Leadership Group
- Lead the development of strategic positions/advice on sports wagering issues across governments, law enforcement agencies, wagering service providers and regulators - including a focus on enhancing stakeholder engagement with the agency.
