About the team
The City Works Department is responsible for the maintenance and cleaning of Council’s roads, shopping centres and buildings, along with waste management services.
About the role:
Join our Asset Crew and help clean, maintain and improve our community’s civil and building infrastructure. As an Asset Crew Member, you’ll be at the heart of our operations, ensuring our assets are clean, safe and well-presented for everyone to use.
What you’ll do
- Carry out cleaning, maintenance and improvements on Council buildings and infrastructure.
- Inspect shopping precincts, remove graffiti, litter pick and pressure wash street furniture
- Spot and report any problems quickly to keep the community safe.
- Use tools, machines, and Council software systems.
- Keep accurate records of all work done.
- Always focus on great customer service and high standards.
This role has the opportunity to participate in an after-hours roster, responding to urgent maintenance needs as required.
Skills we’re looking for:
- Experience in outdoor cleaning and general maintenance or similar work.
- Ability to use tools, machinery, and software.
- Great attention to detail and a focus on safety.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Willingness to work in a team and on your own.
- Available for after-hours emergency work on a roster.
You will also have the following;
- Experience using a range of hand and power tools.
- Current Victorian drivers’ licence and minimum Medium Rigid licence.
- Valid Victorian traffic control and traffic management certification (Desirable)
