About the RoleA rare opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and strategic Director of Sales & Marketing to join a luxury 5-star hotel located in the heart of Sydney. This flagship property is known for its premium positioning, distinctive personality and elevated guest experience.
This role is the commercial heartbeat of the hotel. You’ll lead and inspire a talented team across Sales, Marketing, Events and Reservations to drive performance and brand presence across all channels. With full responsibility for commercial strategy, you'll shape how the hotel is seen, experienced and booked—locally and globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of commercial strategies to optimise revenue across all segments
- Manage and motivate high-performing teams across Sales, Marketing, Catering & Events, and Reservations
- Oversee the creation and implementation of bold, on-brand marketing campaigns and activations
- Own customer relationships, account management and market positioning
- Lead pricing, forecasting, and channel optimisation in partnership with Revenue and Ops teams
- Develop compelling digital, PR and content strategies aligned with brand objectives
- Leverage loyalty programs, partnerships and events to increase visibility and customer engagement
- Represent the hotel at key events, trade shows and industry forums
- Set performance goals, provide coaching and drive a culture of excellence
- Proven success in a senior Sales & Marketing leadership role within a luxury hotel environment
- Strong understanding of market segmentation, digital marketing and sales conversion strategies
- Commercial acumen combined with creative flair and brand sensitivity
- Confident communicator and presenter, comfortable influencing stakeholders at all levels
- Passion for hospitality and a track record of developing high-performing teams
- Ability to think both strategically and operationally, with attention to detail and follow-through
- A collaborative approach, balanced with independent drive and initiative
